Fire Department

Support your Local Fire Dept. Cordy/Sweetwater Fire Dept is run completely on a volunteer basis.
Many of our community’s events go to support them. They also take donations all year round. You can
mail your donation or drop it by the station in their drop box. See address above.
In the summer months the firemen sell ice at the Fire station on the front porch and all proceeds benefit
the station. Please help keep our community in good hands by donating to Cordry/Sweetwater Fire

The District has a compost site located between the Cordry boat launch and the fire station on Cordry Drive.  Residents are allowed to dump grass clippings and leaves that are not bagged.  No other debris is accepted.

The District has recycling available in the District Office parking lot.  Recyclable items are:  plastic, cardboard, newspaper, office paper, food package cardboard, glass and cans.  We take plastic items that have a triangular symbol with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, or 6 inside that triangle.  No other numbers are accepted.  We do not take black plastics, styrofoam, hazardous materials, empty motor oil containers or paint cans.

If you have any questions as to what to recycle please call the Recycle Center at 812-988-0140.
